The Enforcement Committee of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers fines a company for breaching its professional obligations as a financial investment advisor, and imposes a financial penalty on its chief executive officer

In its decision of 24 January 2019, the Committee fined Novactifs Patrimoine – known as Ageo Patrimoine at the time of the facts – €250,000 for breaches of several of its professional obligations. It also imposed a financial penalty of €100,000 on its CEO, Mr Thierry Marchand, and issued a warning against him.

New key figures take up their seats on the Autorité des Marchés Financiers' Board and Enforcement Committee

By an order of the Minister for the Economy and Finance dated 17 January 2019 and by decision of the other competent authorities, the Board and Enforcement Committee of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) have been renewed by including, for the first time, the provisions of the Order of 31 July 2015 on equal access for women and men to positions within independent public authorities. They welcome seven and three new members respectively.

The AMF Enforcement Committee fines Natixis Asset Management €35 million

In a decision handed down on 25 July 2017, the Enforcement Committee has issued a warning to Natixis Asset Management and fined the company €35 million – the largest fine ever imposed by the Committee – for having breached its professional obligations in the management of formula funds between 2012 and 2015.

Marie-Hélène Tric, Honorary Judge at the Court of Cassation, becomes Chairman of the AMF Enforcement Committee

Marie-Hélène Tric has been elected Chairman of the Enforcement Committee of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF). She will succeed Michel Pinault, who was recently appointed member of the Constitutional Council. Jean Gaeremynck, member of the Conseil d'Etat, will chair the second division of the Committee.

AMF Enforcement Committee sanctions Virtu Financial Europe and Euronext Paris

On 4 December 2015, the Enforcement Committee handed down a penalty of €5 million to Virtu Financial Europe for market manipulation and ignoring Euronext market rules. It also handed down a penalty in the same amount to Euronext Paris for failing to meet its obligation to operate with neutrality and impartiality, in accordance with market integrity.
